[va-bird] Occoquan NWR woodcock

I led a walk to Occoquan NWR for Fairfax Audubon last night (3/6), and
the woodcock cooperated with a vigorous show.  Starting about 6:25pm
about 10 woodcock started calling and displaying about halfway down the
road from the parking lot to the gazebo.  One small drawback was that
the wind apparently kept the birds out of the open field.  As a result,
most of the flights originated to the east of us, meaning that we had a
dark background against which to view the displayers.  It was extremely
difficult to see the birds as they lifted off.  Anyway, it was still a
fun event, with a full moon to boot.
