[va-bird] Cardinal at high elevation

For the first time, we have had a male solo cardinal up at Bear Mountain
( elevation approximately 4300+ ft.) He was only here during times of
snow cover (which was most of the winter- Dec.-Feb.) and was eating
sunflower seeds that fell from the feeders. I haven't seen him since the
snow melt. John Bazuin said that this might be a state elevation record.
 Wondering if this is so.
