Very likely related to your sighting, today around 5:30 p.m., I saw an Osprey 
flying, clutching a long branch (prospective nesting material, I hope), over 
the Boundary Channel just upstream from the south end of the 14th Street 
Bridge.  It flew to and landed in a large tree near the outlet into the River, 
joining a second Osprey already perched in the tree.
