[va-bird] Geese at night

At about 11:00 last night over 100 Canada Geese flew over my house in
McLean. Like Elisa's post this morning I heard them first, and went out
on the patio. I was watching as they cleared the tree line in a wide,
perfect V. As they flew almost overhead they were backlit by the city
lights reflecting off the low clouds and I could see a few individuals
changing places at the front of the flock. Then they were gone. A common
bird but a startling and delightful moment in the quiet suburbs of DC.
