Elisa,

What a wonderful sight you had. Sometimes I take my telescope against the
light of the moon
and unbelievable as it sounds, you can catch flocks of migrating birds, often
geese.

Subject: [va-bird] Snow Geese flying at night

Last night, at about 10:30 pm, a flock of at least 20 Snow Geese flew over
my apartment in Portsmouth. They were quite vocal -- that is how I noticed
them. Does anyone know if night migration is preferred by waterfowl?
