Wendy and VA Birders,
The snipe we saw in Highland Co. this weekend was of course a Wilson's
Snipe (the new name for our bird, which was split from the Common Snipe in
Europe). I was using my Birds of Virginia checklist, which has not yet been
updated, and in spite of my best intentions, I copied the old name of "Common
Snipe"
when I wrote my report.
