Good Morning VAbirders,
It must be a good day for north today, at least if you are a Ring-billed
Gull. As the light came up this morning, working at the kitchen sink with
eyes to the sky thru the window, it soon became apparent that Ring-billeds
were on the move. Instead of the half dozen or so I've seen each morning
for several weeks, this morning I saw an on-going parade of gulls, some in
V formation, heading north. By the time I made myself stop watching I had
counted 101.
An added bonus, 2 Tundra Swans and 4 probable Green-winged Teal. Watching
all those lucky birds, I wanted to run outside and spread my wings and
start migrating. But, me? I wouldn't go north, I'd go southwest, you betcha!
Enjoy the beautiful day and the beautiful birds!
