Hi All
After seeing the post by David Clark of American White Pelican and
Red-necked Grebes at Back Bay, My wife and I made a trip to that area yesterday
First stop Mount Trashmore where I found only common species. still with high
hopes on to Back Bay NWR. No luck finding American White Pelican or
Orange-crowned Warbler. Did
find a Bald Eagle eyeing some Scaup, in the bay behind the visitor center. In
front of visitor center I found a few Catbirds and Bob White to add to my
Year List, Also seen Sedge Wren, Brown Thrasher, Field sparrows,
and Towhees. We also saw a FeraL Pig which is common to the area.
Talking about saving the best for last I went out on the fishing pier at
Sandbridge, where I found my first ever Razorbill. Saw 3 Lesser Black-backed
Gulls on beach. Common and Red-throated, Loons very close to shore,
Lots of scoters and Northern Gannet off shore.
