Hello all,
'tis the season for Red-necked Grebes. We took advantage of a sunny afternoon
and visited Riverbend Park in Fairfax County. Just upriver from the visitor
center we spotted a Red-necked Grebe also enjoying the sunny afternoon.
Other species included Buffleheads, Ring-necked Ducks (male and female), a lone
Coot, quite a few Common Mergansers (a number of which seemed to be paired up),
and a lone Great Blue Heron.
