Greetings,
It was a beautiful morning to study gulls, on the mudflats of Neabsco Creek,
across from Leesylvania SP. I needed a break from studying gulls amidst all
the chaos at the Prince William Landfill! Gulls seen were: GLAUCOUS (1st
winter), LESSER BLACK-BACKED (3 adults), LAUGHING GULL (1 adult), and of
course, Ring-billed, Herring, and Great Black-backed. COMMON SNIPE were
abundant-ca 50.
One OSPREY was seen over Leesylvania SP.
FOX SPARROWS (at least 8) were seen throughout Julie Metz Wetlands, with
several singing. Spring peepers were in full chorus, too.
