[va-bird] Brown Pelican on Lake Trashmore

Greetings from frigid Virginia Beach!
We have the usual suspects on Lake Trashmore (lake south of Mt Trashmore in
MT City Park) this morning (31 degrees) - DC Cormorants, Gulls (including a
few Black Backs), and this morning a Brown Pelican who seems in pretty good
shape. It was flying short distances, making low level dives.  I make this
report because of the recent stories of Pelicans in trouble locally; hope
those birds are recovering.

PS: Oh yes, today 3 Hooded Merganser females and 1 male who have been
hanging around recently. Didn't see the PB Grebe this morning who also has
been hunting in the lake.
