That's precisely where my one previous sighting of the snowy owl was, before
it flew and was lost to sight behind the long cargo carrier building across
the street from the parking garage.
Also today, between 4:30-5:00 PM, three birders saw the snowy owl again: For
two (Ilse Jorgensen and Sid Lissner <sp.?>) this was a lifer view. For me it
was a wonderful confirmation that the visiting bird is alive and well -- was in
fact observed on the ground eating, FAR out on a grassy area near the little
roofed bulletin board and the small green box to its right. Eventually the owl
flew gradually, with a couple of stops, to one of the tall light towers
directly behind the post office building. I'll let the other observers supply
the
detailed runway numbers they jotted down as coordinates.
