And, a flock of Gray Catbirds--doesn't three qualify as a flock in
February?--and a Hermit Thrush! From Easy Road, I saw one Bald Eagle
sitting near the nest as I heard a King Rail behind my back. Later,
there were 6 Bald Eagles sitting in two adjacent trees along the
Belmont Bay shoreline near Deephold Pt. and Charlie Roads.
Worth mentioning is that there is now an entrance fee of $2 for
visitors to the refuge.

I can add a few birds to Scott Priebe's list for Occoquan NWR this
morning: tree sparrow (1), eastern towhee (1), common goldeneye
(1), hooded merganser (3), common merganser (8), king rail (2),
eastern meadowlark (1), winter wren (2), belted kingfisher (1),
eastern bluebird (8)
