[va-bird] Snowy Owl keeping its distance

This evening between 5 and 6pm there were about ten of us searching for the
Snowy Owl from the third floor of the parking structure. It was spotted far
off on the ground, well beyond the runways, in front of the triangular tower
which is located between two red lights. The owl did fly once and seemed to be
feeding. We all hoped it would fly in closer to the parking structure, but
this evening it seemed quite content to remain on the ground at quite a
distance out. It's hard to estimate how far out it was (one of the birders
said it was about a mile).
None of us spotted the short-eared owl or northern harrier of earlier reports.
