We were down around the Potomac Saturday 2/12.  The best bird was the Lesser
Black Backed Gull at Neabsco Creek, Redheads at Mason Neck SP and Burke Lake
and a Red breasted Merganser at Burke Lake.

Following is a summary of what we got:

At Mason Neck State Park:

Tundra Swan  22

Black Duck  4
Greater Scaup 4-8
Lesser Scaup  about 7000
Canvasback  17
Redhead  2
Ring necked Duck  110
Bufflehead  3
Common Merganser  42
Bald Eagle  1 Adult and 1 Immature

Pohick Bay Regional Park

Mallard  6
Greater Scaup  3
Lesser  Scaup  122
Ruddy Duck  3
Bufflehead  10
Common Merganser  100
Bald Eagle  3 Adults, 10 Immature

Neabsco Creek

Lesser Black backed Gull  1
Ring billed Gull  several thousand
Great black backed Gull  6

Burke Lake

Mallard  14
Ring necked Duck  164
Redhead  8
Bufflehead  4
Ruddy Duck  11
