Among the resources posted on the VSO webpage recently is a list of the
regional bird listserves that are available for keeping up on local bird
sightings, in addition to VA-Birds.  Sometimes there is cross-posting
with VA-Birds, but the local lists also circulate information of a more
local interest.  At the site, information is provided on the region
covered by the listserv, the moderator, subscription directions, and how
to access their archives.  The VSO web page can be found at
http://www.virginiabirds.net/.  The listserves currently included are
Bristol Birds, FHP Birds (Frankilin, Henry, and Patrick Counties),
Shenandoah Valley Birds, New River Valley Birds, and
VA-Richmond-General.  If you know of any that have been missed, drop me
a line.
 
Also recently posted I noted is a species list from the Outer Banks trip
held a week ago.
