Greetings all,

A paper on extralimital reports of Painted Bunting has been submitted to 
North American Birds, a journal I work on, and it occurs to me that folks on 
this 
listserv could help out in checking the list of reports from Virginia.   These 
begin in 1925 and end with the bird in Chesapeake (through today).   In some 
cases, there is no record of the plumage of the bird, or the dates are 
incomplete or uncertain.   If you've seen a Painted Bunting in Virginia, could 
you 
check the list to see if you're able to fill in any blanks?  Anyone who helps 
to 
fill in a blank or make a correction will be acknowledged in the published 
paper. (In the list below "green" means either a young male or a female; "male" 
means a bird in definitive adult male plumage; "unknown" means the plumage 
details were not published.)   One Eastern Shore report, at Karen Terwilliger's 
house, is missing - would love to get that one!
