We stopped by Montressor Road in Loudoun county today and the Rough Legged
show continues. We had 6 light phase and 1 dark phase this afternoon.
Other hawks included 5 Northern Harriers, 4 female, 1 male, upwards of 11
Red Tailed Hawks and 1 American Kestrel. We also had another light phase
Rough Legged on the east side of RT 15 earlier in the morning while on our
way to MD for the Lapland Longspurs (which continue on Oland Rd if anyone is
interested). When we were ready to leave, a Barred Owl hooted in the
distance.
We didn't stay to see if there were any Short Eared Owls, waiting to hear
from those who were still there.
