From Phil Kenny <philkenny1@xxxxxxx>.

There was also a flock of a dozen or so Red-winged blackbirds, all females
it seemed. Does anyone know if they just have not molted, or are they
juveniles, or just happened to be a flock of females? I've never seen this
before.

Phil,
It is quite common during winter to have single sex flocks of
blackbirds. They were probably adults, but without handling them you can't
tell for sure.
