Hello Roger and all VAbirders,
Roger Mayhorn reported:
"Fellow birders,
When the snow began to fall here in Buchanan County around 1:00 PM today
the birds really began to pour in to the feeders. After making a couple of
counts I found that I had 16 species with a total of 202 birds. There were
102 Am. Goldfinches,"

It's interesting to note the large number of Goldfinches coming to your
feeders. Folks in Louisiana are reporting very high numbers as well. One
person guessimated 1000 at his feeder! My Goldfinch number is going up
too, from only a few to about 40-50 in the last 2 weeks. Perhaps this will
be a banner year for Goldfinches?
All enjoy your reports Roger! :-)
