The reservoir (Loudoun County) was about 80% frozen this morning. Highlights
were lots of both Common and Hooded Mergansers, and an adult Bald Eagle.
The were a couple dozen gulls, mostly Ring-billeds with a few Herrings mixed
in. From there I stopped at the Dulles Wetlands, where I had great looks at
both a White-crowned Sparrow and an American Tree Sparrow. A couple more
tree sparrows were calling nearby but I couldn't see them.
