Greeting to all:
During lunch on Friday 01/31/03, I had just about enough of looking at Song
Sparrows on the ground and was about to return back to work when a bird flew
across in front of me and landed in a tall patch of grass. As it flew across I
first thought that it was just another sparrow, but after it landed and I got
my bins on it, I soon saw that it was a warbler. After moving around in the
grass and in some small nearby bushes, it flew back across and landed in a bush
on a few feet to the right of me. I turned out to be an Orange-crowned
Warbler. The last time that I saw one at this location was October 1991.
Good Birding
