[va-bird] Monday Birdwalk at Huntley Meadows Park (2/4/02)

VA-Birders,
A beautiful morning at Huntley. Waterfowl numbers were better than previous
weeks, but still lacking in diversity. Some highlights:
Hooded merganser - 12+
Am. black duck - 4 (two m/f pairs)
Green-winged teal - 40+
Common snipe - 1
Sharp-shinned hawk - 1 (imm. male perched close to boardwalk for full-field
scope views)
Eastern towhee - 1 (near tower)
plus all the regulars..
In light of recent events, the often-ignored canada geese garnered more
attention than usual...
