Hello VA Birders,
Just a quick note celebrating our first sightings of Pine
Siskins for our year-yard-list.
We had three around brunch for a relatively brief visit at the
nyjer/thistle and sunflower (black oil / and hulled mix) and now again
around late lunch, one on the thistle socks alongside a few American
Goldfinches.
We are tempted to list the winter's chilly snap as a culprit.
Also our first of the year list Red-winged Blackbird -solitary male with
rust on his upper back- visited the sunflower feeder today.
Cheers,
Bill Benish and Robyn Puffenbarger
