It has not been determined and will not be. The only confirmation of weather
a bird of this nature is wild or escaped is to catch it and find a band on it
that was put there when it was in the wild or for some aviculturist to come
yelling that they have lost one, and the bird waddles over to them and jumps
up into their arms. The lack of a band on it now proves nothing and the lack
of clipped claws proves nothing. Many collectors never band their birds or
clip their claws. The judgment is up to you. Twenty-five years ago, my life
Snow Geese on Wallaston Beach in Quincy, Massachusetts were ones that I
chased after they were put on the voice of Audubon. They were last seen
chasing a golden retriever down the beach. These geese are all free flying
and beautiful. Enjoy them.
