I haven't been goose-chasing today, so this isn't about a specific sighting,
but rather a general note about Barnacle movements.
My Madge and Burn waterfowl ID guide has this passage that relates to
Barnacle Goose characteristics, "Compared with other geese, seems to spend
more time flying about in winter quarters, flocks constantly rising, circling
and dropping in to feed again."
I found this interesting in light of "our" goose's peripatetic qualities.
