Another good source for the pronunciation of bird names and terms, including
scientific names, is The Audubon Society Encylopedia of North American Birds,
by John K. Terres. Terres also sets out (in English, for the benefit of the
illiterati such myself) the meaning of the scientific names of the North
American birds, as well as the non-obvious common English-language names.
