Tuesday I helped with the revived Kerr Lake CBC organized by Brian
Bockhahn, covering a sector encompassing Island Creek Recreation area
and Ivy Hills Park and WMA in Mecklenburg County.  As Will Cook noted,
the weather was beautiful; this was the first CBC in Virginia that I
have been bitten by a mosquito on.  I also heard several Spring Peepers,
and saw one basking turtle.  I enjoyed exploring a new area with very
little car or people traffic.  I found nothing spectacular, with my
highlights being:
 
1 Barred Owl that flew across the road late in the day
2 R. S. Hawks
1 R. B. Nuthatch
1 Brown Thrasher
3 Pine Warblers
2 Purple Finches
