[va-bird] Ornithology 1 Class with Dr. Bill Stott

The Audubon Society of Northern Virginia's exciting adult education
program entitled LEAPPTM (Learn, Enjoy, Appreciate, Preserve, Protect)
is a unique opportunity for those wanting to learn more about the
natural world. 
Society members and others in the community can select from a wide range
of subjects offered in both the spring and the fall. 


Ornithology I
A Way of Knowing:   
The Study of Birds 

A college-level introduction to the study of birds in the context of
their environment. Particular attention will be paid to their biology,
field identification, ecological relationships, life histories,
geographical and seasonal distribution, and migration. While the course
is designed to include beginners, it is by no means restricted to them. 

Class dates: 7-9:00 pm, January 31, February 7, 14, 28, March 7, 14, 21,
28, April 4, 11, 18, 25
Field trips: February 12, March 12, April 9, 30
Location: Packard Center, upstairs conference room (Exception, Hidden
Oaks Nature Center on the first Monday of each month)
Cost:   $150/members; $175/ non-members
Instructor: Bill Stott, Jr. is a renowned ornithologist, lecturer,
teacher and field trip leader.
