While participating in the Calmes Neck CBC Cliff Hupp and I visited Sleeter
Lake several times. Normally this lake produces a wide variety of waterfowel
however this year it was nearly vacant. The only good sighting we had there
was at about 2:30 in the afternoon, a Double Crested cormorant was drying
it's wings on the edge of the lake.
The day in general was mostly uneventful for birding with but one exception,
we had more Red Shoulder Hawks than ever before in this section of the count
area.
Good Birding
