VA Birders:
Still flying high on the heady rush of the Cape Charles CBC I ventured forth
this weekend:
Morning of Jan. 1 I spent about an hour around the runoff ponds at Rt. 28 and
234 bypass and a few backroads near Manassas airport. 24 Species. Highlights: 1
Snow Goose flying overhead along with a small flock of Canada Geese,
White-crowned Sparrow, Eastern Towhee.
Jan. 2 Bull Run Marina trail (south of bridge.) Highlights: Hermit Thrush, Bald
Eagle (flying about 30 ft. above the water), small flock of Golden-crowned
Kinglets, Brown Creeper.
