[va-bird] Tracking Redpolls

I applaud Ned Brinkley's suggestion to track coastal redpoll movements
through this list group, but I hope that people who record them (and other
species)
will also provide their data to eBird. The latter system was established for
just such a purpose--recording observations by anyone, any place, any time.
eBird, in addition to its many other values, fills the voids among other
organized data collection and storage projects like Christmas Bird Counts, BBS,
atlases, Project Feeder Watch, and the many other formal censuses and surveys.
Data entry is quite painless and one's personal bird observations are always
available to the submitter for personal analyses and to everyone in aggregated
form as maps. To access eBird, simply go to http://www.ebird.org/content/.
Happy New Year,

Dave Davis
