Birders,
Ken Bass and I went to look at the immature Trumpeter Swan today after
receiving
a call from Laura Catterton that the bird was still around. The little farm
pond it has
been visiting was partially defrosted and the bird could find something to
ear. It
was in the company of only 4 Canada Geese, one of which was lame. We got
to see the bird up close and personal which reinforced my original id. This
is one
BIG bird. Classic bill shape - Canvasbackish). Cool creature!
Had no luck with gulls at the dump, only one LBB Gull; the rest were hordes
of
Ring-bills lots of Herrings and some GBB's.
Also took 3 more stabs at the Brewer's Blackbirds on Fleetwood Drive. No
Luck.
