Friends on the Virginia bird listserve,

I'm about to embark on a 3-month adventure -- bicycling and camping across the
U.S. I'll leave Arlington in early May and, via Kentucky, lllinois,Missouri,
and Kansas expect to get to Pueblo, Colorado in late June, and to the coast in
early August. I'd like to do some nature study, particularly birding once I
get past the Front Range. Because I will be carrying everything, I must be
very weight conscious and will count every ounce.

I would like to take the guts of a bird field guide to western birds. I can't
stand the thought of buying a new field guide and tearing it apart, only
keeping pictures and text (well trimmed)of species that are not in the East.
Does anybody in a Virginia suburb relatively close in to Arlington have an old,
really dilapidated field guide that would give to me realizing that I am going
to destroy it?. If you do,I would ride over one day and get it from you.
