VA Birders,

Ok, one of my first official acts as VARCOM secretary/compiler.  This Trumpeter 
Swan sighting is really exciting.  Good find!  The rare
bird committee would really appreciate a write up from those who saw this bird 
so it can be documented for the state.  It's really
important from an ornithological standpoint to get sightings such as this 
documented.  It helps to have a write up from as many people as
possible because different people probably saw different things which may help 
document it.  So please, even if you've never written up a
bird before, there's no time like the present to document a rare sighting.  The
