WARNING:  The end of this post could be slightly offinsive to some as it hints to prostitution ( hope not though)

Snip:  "There, " Commanding officer Lukas Fyrstk said to his two crewmembers.  "Into the gateway."

ON

It was their only escape.  The only other way out of the chamber was an airtight door, which Lukas could hear the two security guards from the Eagle pounding on.  They were cut off from the ship for some reason.  it.  Lt. Haas moved towards te wavering portal.  Malachi had come over to him but looked ready to collapse from the SO2 which was quickly taking place of the oxygen in the room.  Lukas grabbed his adopted son under his arm and wrapped around Mal's chest.  He hoisted the teenager through the gateway with him.

As his feet hit solid ground, the cool fesh air started to flood into his lungs.  Rommie tried to calm himslef and take easy gulps of fresh air.  He could still taste the SO2 and it was threatening to make him violently ill.

Lukas found a solid wall the minute he felt the solid ground through is boots.  He leaned Malachi aginst it and then dared let go of the breath he was holding as he had gone through the gateway.  To his relief, he took in clean fresh air.

"Easy son," Lukas told Malachi in a soothing voice.  The boy was now coughing violently as he tried to expel the gas inside him and take in the fresh air at the same time.  It took several minutes until Mal was finally calmed enough to support himself.  Lukas could see he was still weak.

Having caught his own breath, Rommie brought out his tricorder and started scanning the area.  Fortunately the ateway had put them on a Class-M planet, but Rommie could not be sure where.  The images had been passing quickly.  Rommie had put the gateway on "hold" when he heard Commodore Fyrstk order them into it.  Rommie was fairly certain they were in present day time and not the past, but he would needd to do somemore analysis before he could say for certain.

"How are you, Mr. Haas?" Lukas inquired. He still had a protective hand on Mal's shoulder.

"Fine, sir," Haas answered.  "I am t-trying to determine where and when we are, now sir."

Their  chance for recuperation was short-lived as a voice from up the alleway they found themselves in called out, "There they are.  Quick!  This way!"

"Ah don't think this is a good place to do any studies," Lukas said, starting to gather Malachi under his arm again.

"I-I would agree, Captain," Haas said as he scanned the area with his tricorder.  "It s-seems to be a rather large mob coming in from the east."

"I can travel on my own, sir," Malachi said.  He didn't want to be the weak link in this team, even though he didn't feel one hundred percent.

"All rahght, son," Lukas said smiling at him.  "West it is, gentlemen.  Let's move it."

They ran for several blocks.  It did appear to be a city of some sort that they were running through.  All the buildings they passed were of some sort of hard block material.  All the dors they passed were wooden. Widows did have  glass panes in them.  They tried to stay to small alleyways, but when they did cross a main street, Lukas could not help but notice a lack of motor vehicles or ground cars on them.  The mob, approximately two block behind managed to remain on their tail.

"Why are they ... chasing us?" Malachi asked.  He was definitely feeling the strain of this run.  "Have we been here .... before?  They ... seem to ... recognise us."

"If we have," Lukas answered his son.  He had been keeping an eye on Mal the whole time they ran.  He had to admit he was impressed with the boy;s stamina.  "Ah don't recognahse this city.  It appears pre-industrailization."

"I, have been trying a-as well," Rommie said. "I have been trying to place this city as we pass through it, but can't, sir."

"in here.  Quick!" came a female voice from just ahead of them.  Lukas looked and saw a woman whom appeared to be in her mid 30's standing in an open doorway.  They were just out of sight of the pursuing mob, so Lukas opted to take the offered sanctuary.

"Out of those uniforms, fast!" te woman ordered.  "Girls!  Help them quick!  The mob will be here any minute."

Roman looked puzzled as two attractive young females started pulling at his uniform.  He looked over to Malahi who was as astonished as him and already half naked.  The commodore seemed to be the only one not too perplexed.

"Do as they say," he ordered.  Already, from outside, the sounds of doors being burst open could be heard.  The mob did not like losing the trio it was chasing.  Fortunately the mob did not get a good look at their quarry.  As they got closer, voices could be heard and varying descriptions were given.  The only thing for certain, the men were Starfleet officers.

Malachi was unsure he could feel any more embarrassed than he did at this moment.  What will Melody think when she finds out?  One of the girls who had helped disroe him, pushed him into a small room and won onto the small bed that was there.  "I'm sorry," she said to him as she saw the confused, almost scared look on his face.  She placed herself over top of him on the bed.  She was about to explain when the sound of the outer door bursting open could be heard.

"Search each room," came the voice of a man leading the mob.

"What is the meaning of this?" asked the woman who had offered the sanctuary.

"We're looking for three Starfleeters," growled the man.  He proceeded to give a description of whom he thought he saw, which did not match the trio at all.  Each room was looked into.  Lukas, Malachi and Rommie were all spotted with a woman each.

"Nothing," growled one of the other men.  "It's just a damn whore house."  The mob departed without even apologising for the intrusion.
