Lt. Haas turned to the sound of his OPS panel signaling him the
slip-stream relay was again on line. He tapped the control to
re-establish the link with the Uss Athena.
"Commodore," Rommie said addressing the command arena. "Th-the
communications relay has re-established a connection with us. I-I am
attempting to re-connect to the Athena."
He sent the command to hail the other starship and was waiting for a
reply when another signal caught his attention. He tapped the console
again, and pulled up the data.
"Captain!" He looked down to the command seat and saw Commodore Fyrstk
turn to look in his direction. "I-I am receiving an automated distress
signal. I-it appears to be coming from a shuttle.... Definitely
Starfleet. " He tapped the panel again, but shook his head and loked
again to the commanding officer. "Too far for an ID a-at this point."
