To add a quick note, partially in response to Leslie's e-mail, and in case I
don't make the next business meeting.
I have had several requests lately from UEC members that have telescopes but
don't know how to use them and would like guidance or would like to learn how
to use their scopes more effectively.
So I propose for our January Urban Stargazers meeting rather than a lecture
or structured program, to have a very loose gathering on the second floor of
the Center, where people can bring their telescopes from home and some of our
"experts" will be available for advice and instruction.
I'll arrange clear skies so that once people get a hand of how their scopes
work, they can take it outside and practice.
If I make hot chocolate or hot cider we can call it a holiday party.
In other words, make the meeting a loose social gathering, but with a purpose.
Any ideas? thoughts?
