[Try Astronomy] Lunar Eclipse on Wednesday

Hi all,

If you'd like a chance to see the total lunar eclipse this Wednesday evening
in a unique setting, join us at Milwaukee Public Museum on the corner of
Wells St. and 7th St. in downtown Milwaukee. While it's always preferable
to see any sky phenomenon from a darker site, sometimes the urban setting
makes for interesting and fun viewing, especially the eclipsed moon over the
US Bank building (makes for a good gallery shot, anyway). We'll be hosting
an event at the museum and you're invited to join museum staff, the general
public and fellow astronomers from Milwaukee Astronomical Society, Urban
Ecology Center and Astronomy Magazine to watch the eclipsed moon sail over
the Milwaukee skyline, in and out of the clouds, hopefully. Bring your
'scope and we'll be set up on MacArthur Square just next to the north side
of the Museum. We'll be going from 7-11pm, with talks, live video from the
Canary Islands and we'll be giving away a goto telescope. The weather
forecast is cloudy, but not completely, and the moon is notoriously
cooperative in peeking through clouds so there could still be some nice
viewing. Here is the basic eclipse info:

Partial phase begins: 8:14pm CDT
Total phase begins: 9:23pm CDT
Mid-eclipse: 10:04pm CDT
Total phase ends: 10:44pm CDT
Partial phase ends: 11:53pm CDT

Look forward to seeing you this Wednesday!
