[TN-Bird] odd Purple Finch

The technical terms for color variants seem to be complex, so maybe I can just
call this an odd bird. For two days now we have had a male Purple Finch with
very pale pink cheeks, almost white. The head is a strong rasberry color in a
cap begining above the eye. The belly is very pale rasberry well to the the
begining of the vent. There are no stripes along the flanks, unlike the three
normal males we see with him. At the moment, we are seeing somewhat more Purple
Finch than House Finch. Ralph and Kay Brinmkhurst, Lebanon, Wilson Co.
