Hazel Cassel and I checked out Couchville Lake this morning in hopes that  
the Hooded Mergansers had returned as they do each winter.  We were  delighted 
to find 76 Hoodeds (males and females) and one female Red-breasted  Merganser.  
There was also 1 Great Egret and 20+ Northern Shovelers.

great egret 1
Canada goose 133
mallard  lots
hooded merganser 76
northern shoveler 20+
ring-billed gull 21
black vulture lots on the power towers
belted kingfisher
killdeer
