[TN-Bird] Chickamauga Birds- ducks, shorebirds and cranes

I birded Chickamauga Reservoir on November 30, 2007. The following is a list
of selected birds per location.
North Mouse Creek embayment, McMinn County, TN
1. Killdeer- 33
2. Wilson's snipe- 18
Roger's Creek embayment, McMinn County, TN
1. Bufflehead- 2
3. Killdeer- 119
4. Wilson's snipe- 39
5. Sandhill crane- 18
6. Least sandpiper- 2
7. Hooded merganser- 2
Of all the embayments birded in this area this one always has the most
shorebird species possibly because it develops mudflats before some of the
others.
Price's Creek embayment, Meigs County, TN
1. Killdeer- 21
Gunstocker Creek embayment, Meigs County, TN
1. Sandhill crane- 3
2. Killdeer- 15
3. Wilson's snipe- 8
Hiwassee crane viewing area, Meigs County, TN
1. Sandhill crane- 1000s
2. Whooping crane- 1
3. Double-crested cormorant- at least 50
4. Gadwall- at least 90
5. American widgeon- at leat 6
6. Mallard- at least 5
7. Northern pintail- 2
8. Canvasback- 1
9. Ring-necked duck- at least 200
10. Hooded merganser- at least 140
11. Ruddy duck- at least 1
12. Snow goose- 1
Candies Creek embayment, Bradley County, TN
1. Great blue heron- 38
2. Killdeer- at least 264
3. Wilson's snipe- at least 27
4. Least sandpiper- at least 11
5. Dunlin- at least 4
6. Bufflehead- 3
South Mouse Creek embayment, Bradley County, TN
1. Killdeer- 10
