Reelfoot Lake area
Lake County

Phillip Casteel and I headed out to Reelfoot Lake this Wednesday
morning. Our 3 hour drive produced the bird of particular
interest. Between 9:30 am and noon we found the WHITE-FACED IBIS
2 out of the 3 times we searched for it at its prefered spot on
Choctaw McCutcheon Rd. See previous TNBIRD posts by Steve Clendenen
(29 Nov.) and Mark Greene (30 Nov.) for specific directions.
Although we observed the ibis in the general area previously reported
it certainly moved around quite a bit and so persistence is required.
For one of our visits it was in view for about 30 minutes and came
reasonably close to the road. On another visit the bird was sent
flying by 4 guys in a 4-wheeler off road vehicle that came through
the water where it was searching for food.

We had less luck with the gull roost and did not see the more
interesting birds found by Mark today, but we did not stay very
long because we had another 3+ hour trip to return to Nashville.

Many thanks for the help provided by Nancy.
