[TN-Bird] Rusty Blackbirds..........

David Stone, Green's Superintendent at the Honors Golf Course in Ooltewah,
TN in Hamilton County is hosting a large flock of 300 plus Blackbirds. They
looked to be mostly Rusty but we didn't get a chance to look through all of
them today. A Cooper's Hawk landed in the middle of the flock on the ground
and came up with a Redwing Blackbird. Not sure what all was in that flock but
there were enough Rusty Blackbirds to satisfy my daughter Sally's appetite
for a lifer.
Thanks to one of the Crew workers, Steve Snow, we drove my car around paths
and trails that had probably never seen a car before. He showed us three
Flying Squirrels huddled in a box together. Time prevented us from seeing all
the other goodies that are out there. They say we may come again and we
certainly plan to.
