Fellow birders,

This has been a difficult week for Linda Northrop.  She did not get to 
return to Greeneville on Tuesday the 6th, as was originally hoped.  She 
has spent the week at Johnson City Medical Center and will be there at 
least until Monday, the 12th. 

Linda still has not recovered from the pneumonia that she contracted 
around the time of her heart attack at the end of November.  She also 
has been having bouts of nausea since just before Thanksgiving, and her 
doctors are not sure what might be causing this.  She has been unable to 
eat properly and generally has felt bad for the last few days.  However, 
she has been out of intensive care since early in the week and had a 
much better day today.  She was in good spirits this evening and felt a 
lot better physically.  She experienced no attacks of nausea today.

Many thanks to all who e-mailed me with messages for Linda.  I read them 
to her tonight, and she was much cheered.  Your words really have 
helped, and all of us appreciate your thoughtfulness and concern.  
Although Linda prefers not to have visitors or phone calls yet, she 
realizes that in a sense she has already been visited by everyone who 
sent an e-mail.

I'll keep the list serve posted as things unfold this week.  Anyone 
wishing to contact Linda is again welcome to send me a message 
privately.  I'll pass it along as soon as possible.
