Shelby Farms and Robco Lake
Shelby Co. TN
This afternoon, quick run by to Shelby Farms made for some up close shots of
a pair of Cackling Geese. This pair has shown up for the last 3 years. I was
able to get close photos for the first time. There were 10 Canvasback Ducks
at Patriot Lake, along with the regulars.
Robco Lake was again covered up with birds and instead of looking at the
close birds I scanned the large flock out in the lake. Right under my nose was
my first White-winged Scoter in 2 years, FINALLY. A couple of photos came out
pretty good in spite of the fading light. So the grass is not always greener
on the other side of the lake. Look close first should be my motto.
Good Birding !!!
