[TN-Bird] Black-throated Sparrow still there

This morning I arrived at the Dennison farm at the end of Milners Switch Road
(Lincoln county) at 8:30, parked at the first sign and fork in the farm road
after I saw the frozen mud farther along the road, and walked to the normal
parking area, and went to the 'Here' Sparrow sign. At first I glanced the
brush piles just left and right, but very few sparrows in these, so I went left
(west) 100 feet to the farthest brush pile to start checking each one. I
immediately spotted a light chest and dark throat 15-20 feet away, and looked
through the binoculars and watched the Black-Throated Sparrow preen on the
front side of the brush pile for about 5 minutes. This was by 8:45.

American Pipits were feeding in front of this spot when I arrived, then flew
into the next field. I looked for Horned Larks and Lapland Longspurs, but
without luck. I then looked at the sparrow again, and headed back toward the
car, watching the fields for other birds. There were at least 50 American
Pipits moving around, and several Killdeer in the field on the left just before
the Dennison driveway.

I then drove to Winchester to the crane lake (Franklin county), and spotted 9
Sandhill Cranes, but no Whooping. I drove up the road, changed coats, and
drove back down for another look, and the Sandhill Cranes had flown away, and
the 2 Whooping Cranes had just landed on the far side of the lake. I followed
the earlier directions past the armory and jail to find it. This spot is just
behind the justice/court building on the same road as the jail.

I was wondering if the cold front had caused any bird movement here, but at
least the sparrows have stayed around.
