Fellow birders,

I am saddened to report that Linda Northrop, longtime member of the 
Greeneville Chapter of TOS, suffered a heart attack last Tuesday while 
at her home near Tusculum College.  Fortunately, she was able to call 
9-1-1 and was quickly transported to Takoma Hospital here in 
Greeneville.   She has been under the care of physicians ever since, and 
today she underwent a heart catheterization at Johnson City Medical 
Center.  A heart clot was discovered, and an angioplasty was performed.  
The news tonight is very good, all things considered--apparently the 
problem has been addressed and her prognosis seems good.  Tomorrow she 
will be returned to Greeneville, either to her home or to Takoma 
Hospital.  (She had pneumonia at the time of her heart attack, and she 
may need additional hospitalization for this reason.)

Anyone wishing to contact Linda may do so by e-mailing me privately.  
I'll gladly see that everything is delivered to her personally.  Linda 
has lots of support from family and friends, but I'm sure she would 
appreciate hearing from birding companions around the state.

I'll keep everyone posted on her progress.
