Yesterday was my first full day of conducting bird surveys since mid-September.
It was great to be out again and I was not disappointed. I haven't had time to
compile all the results and break it down by county, but here are some
highlights:

1 Short-eared owl - Montgomery Co, 5:00pm. I've been checking the owl fields
weekly since late Oct but this
was the first one I've seen for the season.

1 House wren - Stewart Co. Found in dense tangle of brush and honeysuckle. The
scolding made me think of a
Ruby-crowned kinglet when I first heard it.

3 Sedge wrens - Montgomery Co. Found in thick grassy field with briars.

2 American tree sparrows - Montgomery Co., Within 100 yds of where I saw some
last winter.
