For most of the day, flock after flock of starlings and grackles have been 
pouring off the Cumberland River at Cleece's Ferry/Bell's Bend and dispersing 
every which-a-way from Charlotte Park after de-berrying many of the 
neighborhood 
hackberry trees and sucking up everything edible for them from the yards.  
Flocks have been in numbers from 50 to 500 birds, and I would guess that I SAW 
at least 3000 birds this morning from time to time when I was where I could see 
the back yard.  Just imagine how many may have gone by that I DIDN'T see!  
Folks, they're heeeeereee!  I  didn't see or hear nary a rusty or a red-wing 
among the flocks.  Hope this weather is bringing in some "good" stuff along 
with 
those star/gracks.  I have had a flock of 20 cedar waxwings in the 
neighborhood for a week or so.
